Front endpaper has a small, neatly written previous owner's name, dated 1924. Rare original dust jacket is attractive. DJ has an open chip on upper right corner on front, shallow chipping at crown and heel, and a couple of closed edge tears. Faint cloud on spine heel of DJ. Book is tight and clean. Binding and hinges are strong and sound. Blue ribbed cloth stamped in gilt. Panels are clean. Pages and endpapers are clean. Frontispiece photogravure with a map of Wessex in rear. A most attractive early printing of the classic, in its original rare dust jacket. NF/VG.
