Return of the Priests: Discovering God's True Intent for His People

There is a banner or standard that the Lord is raising up in this hour. God desires that the whole Church rally at its base. The banner represents God’s desire to restore the Melchizedek priesthood to His Church – to call all believers to minister to God and to their spheres of influence. If this call to the priesthood is the standard we are to raise up before the Church, we must get down to the business of defining and, more importantly, moving into that calling. In Return of the Priests, Thomas Schlueter defines the priesthood and uses simple terminology and everyday illustrations to explain his understanding that God wants all of us to stand before Him as priests. The priesthood is… • a call initiated and defined by God • an invitation, based on our covenant relationship of faith, into an intimate fellowship with God • carried out – not in the framework of a religious system – but in everyday lives • meant for all people called, claimed and redeemed by God's sovereign will and grace through Jesus Christ • expressed through our lives by an authority we are given by God to serve in His kingdom in response to our intimate relationship with Him. God is restoring a kingdom of priests in our generation - not a priesthood defined by clerical collars and religious rituals - but a priesthood of everyday people walking intimately with God. Everyday priests hear His voice and speak His heart with life-changing authority in their homes, their neighborhoods, their workplaces. Pastor Schlueter’s heart for worship and his vision for authoritative intercession permeate his preaching and teaching. He has a gift for using everyday life experiences to illustrate Kingdom principles. You will gain from reading this book a new understanding of the authority God has given you and a deeper hunger for intimacy with the Father.
