8 hand-coloured plates each with a map of the County surrounded with engravings of country scenes with facing descriptive text. (8 1/4 x 6 5/8 inches). Original pale green pictorial wrappers; advertisements to rear wrapper. The 8 maps comprise: Yorkshire, Cheshire, Cumberland, Derbyshire, Lancashire, Northumberland, Durham, & Westmorland. Re-spined with grained skiver in 1891 when this, together with other children's books of c. 1840's were bound together in one volume. Anon.
