Boston, 1841. Sole ed. Mrs. Kinney Defends Herself Kinney, Hannah. A Review of the Principal Events of the Last Ten Years in the Life of Hannah Kinney: Together with Some Comments Upon the Late Trial. Written by Herself. Boston: J.N. Bradley & Co., 1841. 87 pp. Octavo (7" x 4-1/2"). Contemporary cloth, faint label residue to front board, moderate rubbing to extremities, boards partially detached but secure, later library stamps to edges of text block and front pastedown. Light browning to endleaves, light toning to text. $200. * Only edition. When Mr. Kinney died of arsenic poisoning, Mrs. Kinney's suspicious behavior brought her to trial. She was acquitted. According to McDade, there is a related work entitled A Brief Notice of the Life of Mrs. Hannah Kinney for Twenty Years by Ward Witham, her first husband, who reports that she never tried to poison him.
