Plain brown sheepskin with maroon title label on the spine (Revised Code of 1819) and gold ruling on the spines. Volume 1 has a black leather label with Meredith & Cocke in gold. Volume II has the name Meredith stamped in gold. Both volumes have been professionally and excellently rebacked, with a partial inch of new leather visible at crowns of spines. Binding good and tight, leather not perfect (age), but still supple and well taken care of. 5.5 x 9 inches. Volume 1 has small booksellers slug from Frederick Mayo Stationer, Richmond, on inside front cover & the name J. Preston Cocke signed in pencil, dated 1877. 634 pages.
