Synopsis
The book, Praying with Authority and Power, was written to provide instruction in what the Bible says about the purpose and power of prayer, and to motivate a deeper passion for, and commitment to, the discipline of intercession. Written to address different levels of prayer experience, the goal of this Companion Study Guide is to encourage and empower personal and corporate prophetic intercession by providing a platform for group discussion and/or personal meditation on the principles and truths taught in the book. “Challenges” at the end of each chapter provide opportunities for practical application, along with fresh insights. Answering the chapter questions and taking up these “challenges” will serve to help develop a new prayer life, or strengthen an existing one. “I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be given for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence...” l TIMOTHY 2:l-2 One has only to read the newspaper headlines to see that there has never been a more critical time for impassioned, persistent, prophetic mountain-moving prayer. One of Britain’s foremost outdoor evangelists of the 20th century, Leonard Ravenhill, once said: No Christian is greater than his prayer life. The church has many organizers, but few agonizers; many who pay, but few who pray; many who are enterprising, but few who are interceding. People who are not praying are playing. - In the matter of effective praying, never have so many left so much to so few. BRETHREN, LET US PRAY!
