A Practical Guide to BIM Modeling, Design, Documentation, and Coordination
Master the essential workflows of Revit 2026 and develop the practical skills needed to create organized, accurate, and professional Building Information Modeling (BIM) projects.
Revit 2026 User Guide is a practical resource for beginners, students, designers, architects, engineers, and professionals who want to build a stronger understanding of Revit and its role in modern building design and documentation.
Starting with the fundamentals, this guide takes you through the complete project workflow—from setting up a new project and creating levels and grids to developing detailed building models, managing families, producing documentation, coordinating disciplines, and preparing final deliverables.
Inside, you will learn how to:
-
Understand BIM concepts and the Revit 2026 project environment
-
Navigate the interface and configure project settings
-
Create levels, grids, reference planes, and building coordinates
-
Model walls, floors, ceilings, roofs, stairs, doors, and windows
-
Build and manage architectural building components
-
Work with families, types, instances, parameters, and constraints
-
Create practical parametric families
-
Develop floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and 3D views
-
Control visibility, graphics, view templates, and documentation standards
-
Create rooms, materials, schedules, and project information
-
Extract useful quantities and information from the BIM model
-
Explore structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing workflows
-
Link models and coordinate multidisciplinary projects
-
Understand worksharing, worksets, and collaborative workflows
-
Create sheets, title blocks, drawing sets, and professional deliverables
-
Export project information and prepare PDF, CAD, and IFC deliverables
-
Create compelling 3D presentations and visualization workflows
-
Explore Twinmotion and introductory Dynamo automation
-
Apply advanced modeling, quality-control, troubleshooting, and productivity techniques
Rather than focusing only on individual commands, this book emphasizes how Revit workflows fit together. You will learn to approach projects systematically, maintain organized models, reduce common errors, coordinate information effectively, and produce documentation that reflects the underlying design.
Whether you are opening Revit for the first time or looking to strengthen your existing workflow, this guide provides a structured path from project setup to professional project delivery.
Build with intent. Model with accuracy. Coordinate with discipline. Document with clarity. Deliver with confidence.

Store description
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
