This is a later printing as there is no map in map pocket; the map is the front endpapers. Retired small town public library copy. Book is tight, square, and unmarked but for a bookplate on the rear pastedown; a bar code on the front pastedown; checkout pocket on the FFFP verso; index number on spine; occasional pencil check marks in text. Book Condition: Good; sunfaded spine with small tears at top of spine; light soiling and rubbing to boards. No DJ. Red cloth over boards and spine with gilt lettering on the spine and front board. Clean internals. Inner hinges are sound and not split. 500 pp 8vo. This book is a celebrated historical guidebook written by workers of the Federal Writers' Project under the Works Progress Administration in 1937. As part of the American Guide Series, this book documents the rich cultural tapestry, complex history, geography, and distinct character of America's smallest state during the Great Depression.
