Laid in is a typed letter from George R. Bennett, Chairman of the RC&D Executive Council. This is the inaugural report of the RC&D Council, a council which continues to the present day. This is a not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 corporation that initiates, assists, and carries out long-range programs of resource conservation and development for the state of Rhode Island. This program follows on the heels of the wildly successful Save the [Narragansett] Bay organization, founded in 1970.
