Rhumour Has It

"This collection of poems has been assembled from items written across more than forty years so as to give a fair cross section of the varying themes and styles Rhumour has worked with down the years. The earliest poem amongst those in this book dates from the mid sixties 'Dog Rhyme' is a light hearted item based around a story related by one of his friends at the time.

At the other end of the spectrum perhaps is 'Dolphins Of The Cove', a recent poem which examines the story behind a documentary film, 'The Cove' about the stunningly cruel slaughter of thousands of dolphins at Taiji cove every year when the sea turns red....

The many narrative poems, romantic poems and themes of concern about the modern world combine within that spectrum to form a potent mix with appeal to a very wide audience, and has often been commented, they are often mutli-layered by adept use of word play that stimulates the reader to read them over and over.

The Man Behind The Pen
Rhumour is the pen name of Dave Dunn and dates back to his grammar school days in the mid sixties when most of his writing was in the form of limericks and other comic pieces. The impact of the news about the Vietnam war upon his then teenage mind was to bring about rather more serious poems and he has continued to develop his writing about world issues down the years.

Winner of numerous on line awards for his poems, Rhumour has consistently amazed his readers with his insight into many world issues, in addition to his other popular themes, including many romantic, observational and humorous poems. With hundreds more poems already in his files and more being penned every week we can expect further collections to be published in the next few years.

Years of technical writing aside, the author has enjoyed over 40 years of penning poetry, but has never been more prolific than in the last few years, nor had more positive reviews.

Born in Sheffield, he has resided in the Lincolnshire Fens since the late 90's and many of his poems were inspired by the scenery while living in the rural area of Pinchbeck, as well as events and observations on the world in general.

A long time member of Mensa, Rhumour brings his sharp mind to bear on world issues that are destined to affect not only our generations today, but the future for those generations to come. The Climate Change debate remains one of his major interests, this being reflected in the 'wikizine' he set up on the Zimbio network in 2007 (Reversing Climate Change) where articles and many resource links are provided to help readers find the best ways in which they can offset their carbon footprints.
