Rhythms of Recovery

This book is for anyone seeking hope, healing, or deeper connection. It’s designed to be used by individuals or groups—whether you’re in a season of recovery, growth, or simply looking to engage more deeply with your faith and story. We encourage you to go through it with a friend, mentor, small group, or someone you trust in your community. You don’t have to walk this journey alone.

Addiction affects everyone. Addiction is not an unfamiliar concept relegated to the fringes of society; it is the uninvited house guest within the hallways of our hearts, a testament to our fallen nature.

Our endeavor here is not just sobriety (a state of mere abstention) but a comprehensive, all-encompassing spiritual health. It is about learning to depend on God, abide in Him, and tap into the deep reservoir of His grace that leads to genuine, lasting transformation. The emphasis of this journey is not merely behavioral change but a transformation that affects every facet of life.

And so, this book isn’t exclusively for those wrestling with what the world labels as “addictions.” It is for every single one of us. If we are honest, haven’t we all tasted the bitterness of doing what we don’t want to do, and not doing what we yearn to do? The Apostle Paul himself resonated with this struggle, penning the paradox of our shared human experience.

This book is a compass, a road map, and a companion in our shared journey of recovery. If you are a follower of Jesus, you may have discovered that you are in the midst of this recovery journey: recovering from a past life of emptiness and enslavement to sin, and learning to navigate the narrow path to abundant life in faith and dependency on Christ Jesus.
