Established in 1949 by John Herman Rickey, Rickey's Studio Club in Palo Alto became a favored venue for both social gatherings and business meetings. Situated on a five-acre parcel along El Camino Real, a thoroughfare known as "restaurant row," the establishment encompassed a hotel and several dining options in addition to the Studio Club itself. Its location, distant enough from the Stanford University campus to permit the consumption of alcohol (which was prohibited nearer the university), likely contributed significantly to the club's popularity.Oversized menu features a martini on the front cover.
