Synopsis

Five ducks set out to the meadow to build something special. As they pull out their tools to work, more feathered friends arrive. And they each want to help.

However, each one has been teased about their unique skills which include a very loud voice, extreme height, extremely small, and even one who drills holes with its beak.

Will the ducks make fun of them? Or will their help be appreciated?

The five ducks discover each of their new friend's talents is "just right" for their building project. Everyone is put to work, and before long the group has created something extra special for the Bird Sanctuary.

About the Author

Emmie R Werner is a retired elementary teacher of 25 years. Emmie lives on a farm in southeastern Indiana with her husband, Bill, where she enjoys reading, sewing, and-most of all--spending time with family. Emmie and Bill have four grown daughters, four sons-in-law, and fourteen wonderful grandchildren. She has self-published a series of "I CAN" Devotionals/Journals for children through grandmas. In 2022 and 2023 Emmie received honorable mentions for her board book submissions in Vivian Kirkfield's 50 Precious Words contest. Her story THE GIVING DAYS, was included in an anthology MOTHER, published by Christian Writers for Life (2023). JUST RIGHT is her debut picture book.
