Clean ribbed green cloth boards with oval gold decoration, black decorative line border on cover, gold lettering on spine, gold "Gladstone Edition" decorative circle on spine. No fraying or fading. Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound. Pages and edges are clean with gilt top edges, clean endpapers - no names, writing or marks. Circular embossment of previous owner on lower corner of title page. Frontispiece photo portrait of Browning at age 77 (1889) with clean tissue guard. 490 pages with Appendix.
