The author was an American diplomat in Europe and a prolific writer of histories.Condition of these books:Covers scuffed, a couple volumes are chipped at the spine ends, interiors very good with a few spots here and there, tight, images fine. Size: Octavo (standard book size). 7-volume set (complete). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact.
