The book is an autobiographical account of the launching and development of the nation's foremost citizens lobby on hunger.
About the Author: Arthur Simon is the founder and president emeritus of Bread for the World, the nation s foremost citizens lobby on hunger. As a Lutheran pastor on New York s Lower East Side, he brought together Catholics and Protestants to organize a public outcry against hunger. His book, Bread for the World, won the national Religious Book Award in 1976 and was described by the late Nobel economist, Gunnar Myrdal, as a clear and convincing analysis of world hunger. In 1990 Simon received a presidential award for lifetime achievement against hunger.
