Rising Fish and Pointing Dogs: A Memoir

In his new book, Orvis Chairman Leigh Perkins reminisces on a life spent outdoors, from skipping school as a child to go bluegill fishing to hunting in India and Africa— even in retirement, he logs some 300 days hunting and fishing. Perkins has devoted his life to the love of sport, including 30 years at the helm of Orvis, during which the company began its incredible growth which continues today under the guidance of his sons, Perk and Dave Perkins. His fondness for the companionship of those who share his passion is apparent throughout Rising, from Presidents on down; Perkins has brought countless more outdoorspeople into the fold with his boundless enthusiasm for sport. Love of the outdoors and sharing it with others is the story of Rising Fish and Pointing Dogs.
