A Ritual of Shallow Seeds

With the seventeenth century half over and the fall season nearly at an end, Nadine and her motley crew mates aboard La Verdugo have survived in the isolated northern bay, recovering with what little help the local natives could tolerate. Hunting and trapping for some months, up until now her band has thought that hardship, abuse, and the bad luck of the old world would come back around and eventually be their downfall, never once imagining powerful occultist circles or the dark horrors at their beck and call. Unbeknownst to them all, a representative of that merciless order soon drops her anchor right beside their sails, and a new dread finds a way to call this lonely shore home.

Unschooled in horrendous things, each member of La Verdugo's crew imagines that they have suffered and endured the worst of what mankind has to offer. Maybe they are right. Maybe they have - but now that Lady Nisa and Corliss plot and walk in the shifting sand, who could have guessed that they've come armed with the atrocities of another world just in time for winter?
