About the Author
Michael G. Tincher, CPIM, is President and one of two founders of Buker, Inc. Prior to joining Buker he participated in the development and conduct of Manufacturing Industry Client Education for the Professional Education Division of Arthur Andersen & Company. Mr. Tincher has served in a number of production control positions for Galion Manufacturing Division of Dresser Industries. He has had responsibility for production planning and master scheduling and for top management planning and coordination. Mr. Tincher has a degree in Economics from Bowling Green State University. He consults with companies in the areas of top management planning, Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP II), Just-In-Time (JIT) Production and Total Quality Management (TQM). Mr. Tincher is also the author of "Top Management's Guide to World Class Manufacturing" and "High Velocity Manufacturing." Mr. Tincher is a frequent speaker at APICS, ASQC and NAPM seminars and national conferences.! Donald H. Sheldon, Jr., is Vice President of Buker, Inc. Prior to joining Buker he was director and general manager of the Syracuse, New York Aftermarket Division of Raymond Corporation, a world leader in materials handling equipment. Mr. Sheldon also has served as Marketing Manager for the Aftermarket Division; Project Manager for an MRP II implementation in the corporate headquarters; Production Division Manager for Raymond's manufacturing facility in Greene, New York; and has held positions at Raymond as Shop Floor Control Manager, Traffic Manager, Assembly Manager, Manager of Hydraulic Subassembly, Steel Shop Manager and other line positions. Mr. Sheldon has a Master of Arts Degree in Business and Policy Studies from State University of New York, Empire State College. He is experienced in executive level management, sales and marketing management, production management, project management and business system implementation. Mr. Sheldon is a member and past president! of the Southern Tier Chapter of APICS and is certified at the CFPIM and CIRM levels of APICS.
