About the Author

Roger Tory Peterson is the creator of the Peterson's Field Guides, featuring Eastern and Western birds. He created a visual system of identification that revolutionized the birding world. Peterson's work has not only influenced the way we see birds, but has profoundly inspired environmental movements throughout the world.

Author and graphic designer Rudy Hoglund is an avid bird watcher, husband of Jennifer Houser, and father of their two young children, George and Veronica. Formerly art director of Time and Money magazines, he now operates his own studio, Red Bird Design, in Sag Harbor, New York. His previous book projects include Peterson's Birds: The Art and Photography of Roger Tory Peterson, Peterson's ABC of Birds, Peterson's Colors, and William Burt's Rare and Elusive Birds of North America.
