The Rogue River Incident: Case XI Book I (Paperback or Softback)

The Rogue River Incident
Case XI, Book I

In 1949, five people fishing on the Rogue River near Gold Beach, Oregon, watched an object hover above the water. The Air Force sent investigators. They could not explain it away. The file became Case X, and it has stayed unexplained ever since.

Decades later, in the town of Rogue River, outdoor photographer Mitch Wilde is out on the river trail when a rider on horseback appears across the water. An arrow clips his shoulder. By the time he looks again, the arrow is gone and so is the wound.

That afternoon, he finds his best friend, Jack, on the ground with a glowing arrow in his shoulder. Mitch tries to pull it out. It dissolves inside him and leaves nothing behind. And Jack isn’t quite Jack anymore.

Mitch’s neighbor, an old man who has spent years collecting evidence nobody wanted, shows him what he’s been keeping.

Then Mitch films something coming out of a nearby lake.

What follows is filed as Case XI.

Book I of a two-book story. The conclusion is in Book II.

My debut duology, The Rogue River Incident --- Case XI, Books I & II sprung from an idea I had while watching Ancient Aliens on the History channel. I intertwine my love of Native American culture and a passion for the Pacific Northwest, primarily my birth state of Oregon in the paranormal mystery. I sat down one day and started writing. The characters and story came to life as I pressed the keys on my laptop. Every session was as if I were reading something new myself for the first time. It was great fun seeing what happened. I challenged myself by taking thoughts I have had over the years watching Ancient Aliens and X-Files, as well as my love of Native American culture and my experience with all the time I spent in the outdoors of the Pacific Northwest. Bringing these ideas together in a novel was more fun than I ever imagined.
