Synopsis

In recent years choosing sports as a career is considered as more stressful decision for many students in addition to other specific stressors related to peer, home and education. If a student lose the matches or perform poorly in competitions- it would be enough to create fear of failure which may trigger stress and anxiety. Anxiety starts generating negative thoughts then affect the physiology of the body and influences the bio-mechanical activity.They would in turn starts responding to these negative thoughts and prepare the body to lose the game. Apart from the talent, practice, skill and determination our observation suggests that counseling can help the players to enhance the performance in the competitions by overcoming the negative thoughts. This can be done by giving psycho education about self esteem, about himself and making them to practice the NLP exercises. This study includes 5 case studies of different players from different games, helping them with counseling sessions, training them with alternative positive thoughts with the help of CBT and taking the feedback from pre and post games for all the players.
