Roller Coaster Ride With Brain Injury (For Loved Ones) is for those who have experienced a similar tragedy. It will help them adjust to the monumental changes in their life and that of their injured family member.

Writing has always been a large part of Sylvia's life. While in her teens, the experience of writing opened up whole new worlds for her as the characters she created became, for a short time, almost as much a part of her life as those in her reality. She has written four fiction novels; one story for children in the middle grade age group and three women's fiction novels. Also in the works is a pictorial book. Using her own photography, this picture journal will be titled, "With Eyes Wide Open - What We See When We're Looking". Over the years she has had many articles, short stories and essays published in newspapers and magazines within Canada and the United States. "A Roller Coaster Ride with Brain Injury (For Loved Ones)" has been written as a result of a tragedy in Sylvia's personal life. She knows first-hand what it is like to be told that 'your loved one has suffered a brain injury'. Sylvia is also busy with five grown children, one daughter, four sons and their respective 'significant others' as well as being grandmother to five grandchildren, with two more expected within the very near future. Sylvia enjoys photography, gardening, entertaining and exploring B.C.'s gulf islands where she can relax and listen to the sound of waves crashing onto the shore.
