Roots (Paperback)

Paperback. Before we decide where we're going, it helps to understand where we began. In ROOTS, the first book in The Lessons Learned Life Plan, Simon Card looks back at the family, teachers, expectations, fears, friendships, mistakes, opportunities, and early choices that shaped the person he was becoming.Growing up in small-town Georgia, he learned lessons about ability and responsibility, belonging and identity, fear and courage, work and ambition-often long before he fully understood what those lessons meant. But ROOTS isn't simply a collection of childhood memories.Part memoir and part reflection, it asks readers to consider their own beginnings. Who shaped you? What did you inherit? Which lessons still guide you? Which ones have you had to reconsider?Throughout the book, Discovery Points and Lessons Still in Progress invite readers to pause, reflect, highlight, write, and connect Simon's experiences to their own.Because the lessons we carry into adulthood aren't always finished lessons.Sometimes they're only first drafts. The Lessons Learned Life Plan: ROOTS is the beginning of a five-book journey through identity, growth, leadership, and generation building.Real Life.
