(1) Rose Jar. 53pp. Very good condition (brief toning to edge of boards, glassine dj slightly chipped). Signed inscription upside down on rear endpaper, from John L. Foley, a friend of the poet, in which he mentions tea with Mr. and Mrs. Van Wyck Brooks (author). (2) Voice in Silence. Binding unworn, foot of spine slightly toned; glassine dj has small chips at edges. Front endpaper toned from clipping laid in, also signed & inscribed by John L. Foley. Housed in pattern paper board slipcase, paper label; moderately worn and soiled. According to the New York Times obituary, Oct. 17, 1932, some of the lyrical poems in these two volumes were set to music by Deems Taylor, Cadman, Huntington Woodman, others. His most popular poem, "Sometimes", in eight lines, is found in "The Rose-Jar".; 8vo 8" - 9" tall.
