In Rotator Cuff Tear Recovery: The Complete Guide to Anatomy, Treatment Options, and Full Rehabilitation, triple board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist Dr. David Geier delivers the comprehensive, plain-language guide that millions of shoulder pain sufferers have been searching for.
Rotator cuff tears affect 20-30% of adults over 50 — yet most patients are handed an MRI report and left to figure out what it actually means. Dr. Geier changes that. Drawing on nearly two decades of orthopedic surgery and sports medicine experience, plus his deep expertise in regenerative orthopedics, he walks you through everything you need to know: what a rotator cuff tear really is, how it happened, and — most importantly — what you can do about it.
Inside this book, you'll discover:
- The anatomy of your shoulder explained in plain English — so you finally understand your diagnosis
- The critical difference between tears that need surgery and those that don't
- Evidence-based conservative treatments that work — including the physical therapy protocols that help many patients avoid the operating room entirely
- An honest, balanced look at regenerative treatments like PRP and stem cell therapy — separating the science from the hype
- A complete guide to rotator cuff surgery: who needs it, what to expect, and how to choose the right surgeon
- Step-by-step rehabilitation timelines from surgery day through full return to sports, work, and daily life
- Long-term strategies to protect your shoulder for years to come
Dr. Geier is the trusted voice behind DrDavidGeier.com, which he founded in 2010 to bring expert orthopedic guidance to everyday people. He has conducted over 3,500 media interviews and been featured in USA Today, The New York Times, ESPN, Sports Illustrated, CNN, and Men's Health. He is the author of That's Gotta Hurt: The Injuries That Changed Sports Forever and delivered a TEDx talk on athlete health and injury prevention.
You don't have to navigate this alone — and you don't have to settle for vague answers. This book gives you the roadmap from injury to recovery, written by one of the country's most trusted orthopedic and sports medicine experts.
Note: This book is intended for general educational purposes only and does not constitute medical advice. Always consult your physician for guidance specific to your condition.

Store description
We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first visit or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
