About the Authors

Starting out as a Software Engineer, Supriya switched careers to become a travel writer. Spending her time between Karnakata and Delhi, she travels to find coherence in life and love. With an active craving for local Indian food, she loves meandering through the alleys, backpacking and treasures talks with the old and wise. Nick grew up in southeast London and went on to study Classics & Modern Greek at Oxford. This led to almost a decade teaching English in Athens and eventually joining the Rough Guides team for Greece. He soon branched out to cover his second great love, India, where he has spent over four years. After marrying Maria he lived in Pittsburgh for nine years and wrote about parts of the USA for the series. Since coming back full circle to SE London in 2008, he has also worked on other RG titles such as the Philippines, Chile and Cambodia, whilst EFL examining, faithfully attending Spurs matches and searching out obscure psychedelic sounds.
Rashmi Narayan is a London-based travel and food journalist who moved from her hometown of Bengaluru at the age of 22. She has travelled extensively across India, particularly the south and continues to do so when she visits her family every year. Being an avid railway enthusiast, she still prefers travelling by train with the Konkan coast featuring in her top train journeys. Hailing from a family of forest rangers in Karnataka, Rashmi is on a constant quest to bring forward India’s sustainable initiatives for the conscious traveller and work with organisations that protect the country's precious wildlife.
Maria Viskochil Edwards grew up mainly in Michigan but spent the majority of her adult life in Pittsburgh before permanently relocating to London in 2008. Always an avid traveller, she has written or fact checked several titles for Rough Guides, including California, Greece, Greek Islands, India, South India, Turkey and The USA.
