The Round Table Movement: Its Past and Future (Classic Reprint)

Charting the possible paths for Britain’s empire and its Dominions, with a plan for public understanding

In this work, Lionel Curtis outlines a practical, study-based approach to a vast constitutional question. The discussion centers on how free societies can decide their shared future and what role public opinion must play.

The book surveys four clear alternatives for the Commonwealth’s future and explains how those choices could reshape foreign policy, governance, and citizenship. It frames the issue as a matter of collective responsibility, not party politics, and emphasizes careful analysis over rhetoric.

Readers will find a structured approach to evaluating complex options, the steps required to implement changes, and the importance of educating citizens to participate in the decision. The narrative treats the topic as an essential, timely inquiry into how nations might cooperate or separate, with an eye toward lasting peace and shared responsibilities.

• Four distinct paths for the Dominions and the United Kingdom, each with concrete implications
• How public opinion and constitutional choices shape foreign policy
