The Route of the Torbay Express: London Paddington to Paignton & Kingswear (for Dartmouth)

Today with the hectic pace of modern life, technology at our fingertips and everyone all too often glued to their smartphones we risk forgetting the simple pleasures of looking out of the window and enjoying slow travel to experience our surroundings. It is good to take a moment to step back, reflect and enjoy life. Take a break from your stressful lives, centre yourself and consider your health & wellbeing. Get out there to explore and discover the sights, sounds and experiences across the country. These "Through the Window" Travel Guides aim to recapture something of this lost art of travel and encourage people to take time to look out of the window to see the passing places, history, culture, landscapes and natural wonders from the train. We see a train journey as linking a string of pearls and showcasing places you pass as well as the destinations you are travelling to.
