Description: This copy is Signed by the author. Tipped in photo frontis. Roger D Lapham (1883-1966) was a ship owner who served as mayor of San Francisco from 1944 to 1948. This book, written by his wife of over fifty years, tells of their life together, the people of San Francisco, their many world travels, especially through China and Greece. (After leaving the mayor's office, Lapham acted as chief of the post-war Economic Cooperation Administration for China, and later Greece) . Printed by the James H Barry Company of San Francisco. BINDNG/CONDITION: sturdy red cloth binding wit gilt text; a spine slant; otherwise a Very Good book; no dust jacket. 8vo (9.5 inches tall). 506 pages.
