Beautifully bound in straight grain morocco bindings, these two volumes offer wonderful insight into the social structure of England in the 1830s.Consisting of five works bound across two volumes, all of which are very scarce.Volume I features 'The Royal Kalendar and Court and City Register [.] for the year 1837', along with 'Companion to the Calendars for the year 1837'.Volume II features 'The Court and Country Companion', 'Ridgway's Peerage', illustrated with a frontispiece and seventy-two plates, and 'Ridgway's Baronetage', illustrated with thirty-nine plates. Collated, complete.With former owner's inscriptions, dated 1837, to a front blank of each volume.Vibrantly bound in straight grain morocco. In straight grain morocco bindings, with gilt detailing. Boards bright, with back strips age toned. Rubbing to joints, with head of front joint of volume II starting, and board firmly held. Hinges strained, but firmly held. Contemporary inscription to a front blank of each volume. First gathering of volume II working loose, otherwise firmly bound. Pages a touch age toned, with the odd handling mark. Very Good.
