A beautiful edition of Edward Fitzgerald's translation of the ancient Persian poems of Omar Khayyam. Featuring 16, exquisite tipped-in colour plates by artist Willy Pogany. 6.5¿ x 8.5¿ Cloth, Hardback. No publisher¿s details stated, (believed to be George G. Harrap and Co., London) no date though there is a pencilled Sept 1919 to fep. Gilt engraved titled spine, decorated boards, slightly darkened at edges, bumped spine ends. The spine of the dustwrapper is completely missing, front and back along with both flaps are still present though badly worn and chipped. However, the poor dustwrapper has done its job of protecting the book which is in Very Good condition, bright, tight and clean throughout with beautiful, tipped in, full page colour plates on every other page throughout.
