The Ruby Ghost

A penniless governess, a haunted Welsh castle, and a love story edged with danger. The Ruby Ghost revives classic gothic romance for modern readers who crave atmosphere, intelligence, and emotional bite.

A haunted Welsh castle. A penniless governess. One ruby necklace that could change everything—if it doesn’t destroy her first.

Penelope Jones has three things to her name: her sketchbook, her stubborn pride, and dreams she cannot explain. Night after night she sees crumbling battlements, a maid in red velvet, and a glittering ruby necklace lost in blood and dust. When a governess position opens at Silverthorne Castle—the very fortress from her visions—Penelope knows it may be her family’s last hope… and her own worst danger.

Silverthorne’s halls are full of watchful eyes and servants who whisper of ghosts. And James Betterton, the charming cousin whose lazy smile hides more than it reveals. Penelope’s dreams begin to braid themselves into the castle’s past—and its perilous present.

With the slow-burn romantic tension of a Georgette Heyer story and the misty suspense of a Mary Stewart classic, The Ruby Ghost offers a richly atmospheric mix of gothic mystery, class conflict, and forbidden longing.
