Ruby (Mail Order Brides of Wichita Falls)

A reluctant mail-order bride, a frustrated rancher and an out of control ten year-old....Can this thrown-together family survive tall-tales, shenanigans, and lies in the wild west?

When a little thief robs her while boarding a train to Wichita Falls, Ruby Adams is placed in a difficult situation. Instead of becoming an independent woman by utilizing her prized land certificates she inherited, she is forced to become a mail-order bride instead. Ruby can't ever return to New York City again or her uncle will steal her inheritance and marry her off to someone twice her age to pay his soaring debts.

Then she realizes the boy who stole from her is going to the exact same location and her hopes soar when she discovers he knows where her certificates are. All she has to do is pretend to be the mail-order bride the rancher ordered and stick around long enough to get what belongs to her!

There is no way she can afford to fall in love with the handsome rancher that makes her heart pound when she looks into his dark eyes.

When Marshall Montgomery inherits a ten-year-old boy in desperate need of a mother, he panics and sends for a mail-order bride. There is no time to spare in his life right now. In order to buy the neighboring property before the due date, he is desperate to get his cattle to market on time. To his delight and surprise, the mail-order bride shows up at the same time his nephew does.

Satisfied, Marshall can now go back to ranch business and let Ruby take over with the boy.

Will Marshall's drive to purchase more land and Ruby's determination to get her certificates back keep them both from seeing what's right in front of them? Can they both put their selfish needs aside for love?

Wichita Falls is a small, American Historical Western frontier town on the Texas prairie where this complete series takes place. Ruby is the first in a series of mail order brides that come to the frontier town in this series that is directed by the infamous matchmaker, Miss Addie.

Cyndi Raye writes mostly historical western romance except when she comes up with an idea for a contemporary romance, then she writes both. She loves the old West and the feel of small town togetherness, which is found in all of her series.

Creating worlds where everyone is considered family, if not by blood, but from friendships, heartaches and sometimes mistakes made right again is what she loves to read. So, it was important to create such a world for her own readers to indulge in.

Cyndi lives in Eastern PA and loves to travel and enjoy life with her hubby of 40+ years. She has 3 grown children and loves to spend time with her grands whenever possible.
