From the Author: Unable to hit a curve ball, Dennis started umpiring youth baseball in 1994. He has umpired state tournaments at the high school and youth level. In 2013 he joined the Indianapolis Umpires Association (IUA). He has been a member of the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) since 2002. He lives outside Indianapolis with his wife and two sons.
