Run, Amy, Run! is written in memory of Amy, an inspirational young woman who refused to give in to cystic fibrosis, a ravaging disease that invaded her lungs at birth. By God's grace and Amy's determined spirit, her life span and quality of life far exceeded her doctors' expectations.

Run, Amy Run! is also a love story. Amy chose this Bible verse from Corinthians 13:13 to be shared during her wedding ceremony: "And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love."

These words became the foundations of Amy's marriage and life. When confronted with one physical battle after another, her unwavering faith and hope prevailed. Amy's greatest ally, though, was love. Given to and received from her family and friends, it was love that ultimately led her to victory.

Perhaps you've heard the expression that life should not be measured by the number of breaths we take, but rather by the number of moments that take our breath away. Amy experienced the truth of these poignant words her entire life. She gathered the strength to breathe each day and fought the disease that dictated how many breaths she would finally take.

About the Author

Beth Huffman, a retired English teacher from Columbus Grove, Ohio, is an experienced inspirational speaker and author. Run, Amy, Run! is the story of Huffman s former student, Amy Greer, who lived an incredibly courageous life in spite of cystic fibrosis, a disease that invaded her lungs at birth and dictated every breath she took. Against all medical odds, Amy s unwavering faith and indomitable will to live was breath-taking. Amy had hoped to write her own story but ran out of time. She wanted her life to exemplify the need for people to become organ donors and to raise awareness for cystic fibrosis research. In memory of Amy and countless cystic fibrosis heroes, Huffman is donating her profits from Run, Amy, Run! to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for research.
