Detective Romaine and FBI Agent O’Hara are called to investigate a string of brutal murders that defy any clear pattern. At first, it appears they’re dealing with a dangerous and unpredictable serial killer, but the deeper they dig, the less the evidence makes sense. Each crime scene reveals behavior that feels calculated one moment and impossible the next.

As the detectives close in, they realize the killer is changing—becoming something darker, more violent, and no longer limited by the boundaries of ordinary human nature.
