Edna wasn't your ordinary grandmother, with nicknames like "Rabbit" and "The Kissing Bandit." She ran with the likes of the Ma Barker Gang, Alvin Karpis, and even harbored John Dillinger and a dying John "Red" Hamilton. She served time with Barrow Gang member Blanche Barrow, and was a three-time prison escapee earning the nickname "Rabbit" since no pen could keep her in. A compelling story detailing the life of Edna Murray, her criminal career as a Gangster Moll in the Barker-Karpis Gang - including how it all began - how her life ended - and the impact it had on her family. About the Author
Pam Paden Tippet, born in 1946 in Sapulpa, OK., except for a few years in Southern California, spent her younger years in Sapulpa. After her daddy's death in 1957 she traveled with her mother to Columbus, KS. where she went to Junior High and High School. She moved to Parsons, KS to attend Parsons Junior College in 1964. There she met and married her husband Casey Tippet, in 1965. They have traveled near and far, keeping their home base in Parsons, KS for over 42 years. They moved to Sallisaw, OK in 2006 and reside there with two little mutts, "Sully Joe" - a Yorkie, and "Murray Charles" - a mini Schnauzer. Their daughter Stacy, lives in Fort Smith, AR., and their grandson, Chase, is traveling the country. Pam always believed that she should document her Grandma Edna's life history. She actually began writing it in an old journal while she and her husband - a deep sea diver - were living in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1979. Without any resources, and off the top of her head, she wrote the stories that she remembered her grandmother telling her over the years. About 27 years later, Pam dragged that old journal out and began some serious researching. She surprised herself at how accurate her memories from childhood had been. She continued on for another 7 years, searching, researching, and diggin' up bones that eventually revealed the shock of her life. "Run Rabbit Run" turned out to be a much bigger book, at 660 pages, than she had ever imagined. It tells a lot, and it is true.
