All-Pro defensive end Simeon Rice learned the hard way that if you don't toe the line in the National Football League, you pay the price. As a rookie he believed that practice, preparation, and performance were all that mattered in the pros. He also knew that losing was a part of playing with the big boys. But when losing became a way of life, he refused to accept it, and suddenly Simeon Rice was persona non grata.
RUSH TO JUDGMENT chronicles the life of one of the most gifted and dedicated players of our time. Simeon Rice peels back the layers of pro football and looks at the hearts and minds underneath the plastic and padding. RUSH TO JUDGMENT explores the fine line between the heroes and villains in the NFL, from the perspective of a man who has been both. In his world, where elite athletes succeed against daunting odds, it is sometimes difficult to distinguish right from wrong, good from bad, friends from enemies, reality from illusion.
SIMEON RICE, an All-Pro defensive end with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was a two-time All-America at the University of Illinois, where he graduated in 1996 with a degree in communications. After a stint with the Arizona Cardinals, he moved to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2001 and was a member of its Super Bowl-winning team in 2003. Off the field he promotes his new line of sports undergear and is involved heavily in his philanthropic, Phoenix-based Simeon J. Rice Charitable Fund.
