This is the printed cover page from The Sphere dated September 19th 1914 and is taken from Matania's personal archives. The scene depicts a Russian Bayonet charge in East Prussia. Occurring on August 26th 1914 between Korschen and Bertenstein, East Prussia 10,000 German troops and 15,000 Russian troops were engaged in heavy hand to hand fighting.
