A horse and saddle are two of the most important tools of a working cowboy. It is vital that the saddle fits both horse and cowboy. Rusty's saddle is not as nice as the other horse's saddles which causes him to be judged. Through hard work Rusty teaches the others that what really matters is character, choices and how we ride the trail. The Code of the West, which Wyoming wrote into our legislature in 2010, is included in the back of the book. The cowdog highlights an attribute from the code on each page. The rhyming, authentic, western lingo and watercolor illustrations are created way out west by a mother~daughter team.
