About the Author

Deb Williams has been with NASCAR Winston Cup Scene since January 1986 and has been the publication's editor since January 1, 1993. Prior to joining Scene, she was with United Press International for six years, sports editor of The Mountaineer newspaper in Waynesville, NC, for 1 1/2 years, and with Sunbelt Video during the inaugural season of the TV show "Inside NASCAR." She is secretary-treasurer of the National Motorsports Press Association, a member of the board of trustees of the North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame and Museum, assists with Stocks for Tots, an annual event at Christmas in which racers come together to raise money and toys for abused and neglected children in North Carolina, and a member of the advisory board for the motorsports management program at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. She is the author of a book on Ray Evernham entitled. Evernham: Racer, Innovator, Leader, and has two other books scheduled for release in 2004. One is on Alan Kulwicki and the other is on Holman-Moody.
