The Rye Rooftop Club: The great British romantic comedy.

Funny, romantic and full of surprising twists, the first in The Rye Rooftop Club series is a story about friends, relationships, flying scampi, heartbreak, ghosts of the past, erratic kidneys, handsome chefs, pickled eggs and dancing in the snow.

The small coastal town of Rye is so much more than cobbled streets, smuggler's tales and teashops - it is home to an array of warm, eccentric characters who prove that family is not just about blood, but everything to do with heart.

There's Anna, who believes in love, but can’t stop dating the town’s undatable men; Ralph, the new owner of a rundown bookshop, who has fled his previous life to reveal the truth he can no longer hide; Joe, whose good looks and easy manner make life just a little too easy; Auntie B, who at ninety-two dispenses wisdom, sherry and cigarettes, but time is running out for her to confess a painful secret from long ago; and then there is Stanley, the dog with no home.

Together they form The Rye Rooftop Club, a family of friends who meet on a hidden roof terrace high above the town to laugh, cry, fight and keep each other whole. It is a place where you are free to be who you want to be and to love who you want love.

‘All you need is air. The Rooftop Club is a place where everyone is allowed to simply breath their own air. When you can breathe freely you will open your heart, bit by bit, and find your way.’
