Paper, used, fine condition, no internal marks, covers slightly rubbed. Pylkkänen, Riita and Amberg, Anna-Lisa. RYIJY RUGS FROM FINLAND. 2000 YEARS OF TEXTILE ART. 1979, 32 p., 16 black and white illus., 23 x 17 cm. Catalogue of a traveling Smithsonian exhibition organized by the Finnish Society of Crafts and Design. Essays on the history of these rugs from the 15th century on by Pylkkänen, of the National Museum of Finland, and on modern production, including a discussion of some of the examples by Amberg. 7 of the rugs are from 1799 to 1825; the other 23 were designed and woven in the 1960's and 1970's.
