About this title

Synopsis

This work is the culmination of fifteen years of teaching and preparing students for the college entrance exams and building strong skill sets in college bound students. This is not a quick and dirty guide to the SAT II Math Level II Subject Exam. A student who finishes this study guide will be well prepared for the SAT II Subject Test Math Level II and freshman college level work. After a brief introduction to controlling timing and completing the exam within the time specified; Dr. Kronmiller spends the rest of the time building the student’s basic academic skill set. A skill set is not just an assemblage of facts but the knowledge of how these facts were discovered and how they are used to solve problems of varying complexity. He scatters a few historical and hopefully sometimes amusing antidotes to illustrate the basic Mathematics that lead to differential calculus. While this book is designed for the student preparing for the SAT II Math Level II subject exam, Dr. Kronmiller believes that the development from basic algebra provides excellent preparation. If you can conquer this book, you will not only score a great SAT II Math Level II score but will provide yourself an excellent review and preparation for college courses. The approach provides an intuitive method that allows the student to be confident of completing this timed exam with time remaining for review. Having removed the stress of the timed aspect of the exam the student then can focus on achieving the highest score based on their current skill set. As mentioned above, the second part of the approach provides a strengthening of the student’s skill set.In 2012, Dr. Kronmiller was nominated by students at the National Youth Leadership Medical Forum as one of their most inspirational teachers. Recently one of his student’s parents wrote, “What is quite remarkable about Dr. David Kronmiller was his ability to establish a trusting and friendly rapport with our son as he explained complicated concepts in concrete terms. He used his thorough knowledge in multiple academic areas along with his creativity to engage Daniel in discussions on a variety of related topics. As a result, Daniel's ability to grasp and master the concepts of an academic topic markedly improved as well as his insight into understanding the related effects and consequences of that particular concept in our world today. We highly recommend Dr. David Kronmiller as an effective and inspirational tutor in several areas of academics including all levels of science, math, world history, English language and literature." He uses this same approach in this book.
