f/piece (portrait photos of author and Houdini)+396 pp., no obvious faults to book bar an inoffensive round private impressed ex.lib. stamp bottom front end-paper, the paper along the inner edges of the paste-downs is rippled but this is clearly a production flaw; unclipped jacket sealed in protective polythene wrapper which encloses blue cloth boards appears clean bar slight dustiness to back, but top spine region appears to have sustained some tears and a small chip, though this now mostly noticeable on closer inspection, also a line of 5 small spots to lower spine which seem to be small holes - originally took them for part of the jacket design. A fascinating work which ranges from author's encounter with the ageing Fox sisters (who launched the whole spiritualism phenomenon) through to J.B.Rhine and Harry Price, taking in William James, Conan Doyle and Oliver Lodge en route. Often quite hilarious. Very scarce now with jacket. Note: quoted shipping rates are calculated for 500-700 gram net weight, cost will be modified up or down as appropriate outside this range.
