8vo; 270 pages; A well used, worn example, but text complete; lacks rear wrapper, front wrapper and last leaf have several chips and tears, repaired with archival tape; many leaves dog-earred or chipped off at corners; short tears to outer edge of several pages. Line drawn text illustrations of various plants accompany the descriptive text. American Imprints 44-5461; OCLC 956543349; Sanborn (1796-1845) was an avid practitioner of botanical medicine in Massachusetts. Includes chapters on human anatomy, botanical medicine, the art of healing, receipts, index, etc.
