Highly technical, practical book. The first edition, of 32 pages was published in 1880. Includes: raw materials, soft pan work and chocolate work. Half-tone. In-text illustrations of machinery. Blue cloth cover with bright gilt lettering on front & spine. XI/11 preliminary pages, main text 344 p.pages + blank pages for memoranda at the back. 9" tall, 740g. Comes with letter from the publisher's. No inscriptions. Jacket has slight edge wear and 2 small pieces missing from bottom edge, one 1/4" long and the other, a triangular piece, just under 1" long. Jacket unclipped, original price 30/-. Protected in removable clear plastic wrapper.
