Stapled pictorial paperwraps. 12 x 16 cm. 32 pp. of text and ads. Some shallow chipping and overall toning to text. Front cover illustration of a man confined to his bed; rear wrapper stamped with the name of "Highfield Drug Co., Where Service and Quality Meet, Greenville, Michigan." A promotional pamphlet for Dr. Miles' Nervine, Anti-Pain Pills, Tonic, etc., interspersed with testimonials and advice. [Pamphlet dated from one of the testimonials]. Dr. Franklin Miles (1845-1929) founded his medical company in 1885 in Elkhart, Indiana. Over the course of several decades he developed various patent medicines including Dr. Miles' Nervine Restorative Nerve and Liver Pills. In 1930, the company introduced Alka-Seltzer which "combines an analgesic. with vegetable and mineral alkalizers," for the relief of headache, colds, simple neuralgia, and minor muscular aches and pains, etc., a product still produced today.
