SOCIAL ARCHITECTURE 2026: How to Rebuild Human Society in the Age of Artificial Intelligence — VOLUME II — Prof. Manuel GAGO FERNÁNDEZ — The first volume asked what kind of society is emerging around artificial intelligence. Volume II asks the harder question: what must we build now? As AI, automation, demographic change, climate risk, digital administration, data-driven decision-making, and territorial inequality converge, societies can no longer rely on institutions designed for a world that is disappearing. Technological progress alone will not create a humane future. A different social architecture must be deliberately constructed. In this second volume, Prof. Manuel GAGO FERNÁNDEZ moves from diagnosis to institutional design. The analysis develops an Architecture of Proximity, Architecture of Prevention, Architecture of Resilience, Architecture of Care, and Architecture of Algorithmic Trust, connecting technological capability with the everyday structures that make human life possible: housing, cities, rural territories, public services, education, employment, ageing, care, climate adaptation, digital rights, and democratic institutions. At the centre of the book lies a fundamental principle: the greater the technological power, the greater the human responsibility required to govern it. Artificial intelligence can predict, classify, optimise, recommend, and increasingly act. But prediction must not become destiny. Efficiency must not eliminate accountability. Automation must not transform human oversight into a ceremonial click. And technical complexity must never become an excuse for denying citizens the ability to understand, challenge, or appeal decisions that affect their lives. Volume II therefore develops the foundations of a new Algorithmic Social Contract and advances a framework of rights for the AI age: the Right Not to Be Reduced, the Right to Challenge Prediction, the Right to a Human Exit, the Right to Change, the Right to Remain, the Right to Cognitive Autonomy, and the demand for Meaningful Human Oversight. These principles culminate in the Manifesto for a Social Architecture 2026–2050, a proposal for aligning technological development with dignity, responsibility, social resilience, democratic legitimacy, and human freedom. The book also confronts a question that reaches beyond technology: what should progress actually mean? A richer society cannot be measured only by how much it produces. It must also be measured by the time people recover, the risks it prevents, the care it provides, the autonomy it protects, the communities it sustains, and the futures it keeps open. This is the basis of Time Wealth, Social Productivity, Cognitive Sovereignty, and the Architecture of Moral Anticipation developed throughout the work. Social Architecture 2026 — Volume II is neither a rejection of artificial intelligence nor an unconditional celebration of it. It is a proposal. The future will be technological. Whether it will also be human remains a decision. #SocialArchitecture2026, #SocialArchitecture, #ArtificialIntelligence, #AI, #AlgorithmicSocialContract, #AlgorithmicSociety, #HumanCenteredAI, #ResponsibleAI, #AIGovernance, #AlgorithmicGovernance, #AIEthics, #DigitalRights, #HumanRights, #HumanDignity, #MeaningfulHumanOversight, #CognitiveSovereignty, #DigitalHumanism, #FutureOfSociety, #FutureOfWork, #Automation, #FutureOfEducation, #AIAndEducation, #SmartCities, #FutureCities, #SocialInnovation, #DigitalTransformation, #ClimateResilience, #SocialResilience, #CareEconomy, #FutureOfCare, #TimeWealth, #SocialProductivity, #DigitalDemocracy, #TechnologyAndSociety, #TechnologyEthics, #AIAndHumanity, #FutureStudies, #SocialPhilosophy, #HumanFuture, #ProfManuelGagoFernandez

Store description
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free.
